Antitrust sees no price growth for life-saving drugs in 2018

MOSCOW, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service does not expect prices for life-saving pharmaceuticals to grow in 2018, the authority said in a statement on Wednesday, denying earlier media reports.

“In the context of media requests and dissemination of misrepresented information about pharmaceuticals price growth starting from 2018, the Federal Antimonopoly Service reports that it does not forecast a pharmaceuticals price growth: the antimonopoly body was drawing public attention to existing risks of higher budget spending on pharmaceuticals due to imperfections of the state pharmaceuticals register,” the authority said.

The use of the current register can lead to creation of monopolies on the market, the antitrust said.
